A Few Favorites From My July 18 Wedding

All summer I’d been trying to get one of my wedding couples to paddle out in the little row boat that’s always tied to the UW Memorial Union swimming pier. On July 18th I found my volunteers. Sarah & Greg didn’t think to long before accepting my offer but I have to admit I was a little nervous at the thought of my wedding clients accidently falling into the lake. Luckily I had the help of a couple of Greg’s friends in the wedding party (see photo below) and we managed to pull off the shot without incident. Thanks Greg and Sarah you win the prize for wedding day bravery.

A Wedding On The Library Mall

It was a short walk from the ceremony to the reception for Brianna Walsh, Alex Nigro and their guests. Their July 11th wedding was held at Saint Paul’s Catholic Center on the library Mall on the University of Wisconsin campus. After Brianna & Alex left the church through a sea of soap bubbles we made a quick trip up to the top of Bascom Hill where Alex had proposed to Brianna and then worked our way back down to the mall for a refreshing   jump in the fountain.  The couple and their party then headed over to Memorial Union’s Great Hall for a wonderful reception/dance.

July 10th Wedding In The Garden

I enjoy photographing weddings at Olbrich Gardens in Madison, Wisconsin not only because of the beautiful setting but also because it’s only 5 minutes from my home. Peggy and I are lucky to live so close to this gorgeous place. Cortney & Brian had a few concerns about the weather holding for their late Friday afternoon ceremony but as you can see we enjoyed a lovely evening both weather-wise and celebration-wise.

Noelle & Sean Get "Hitched"!

Different modes of transportation seemed to be the unintentional theme of the wedding I photographed on June 27th. Noelle Simatic & Sean Garster left their wedding ceremony at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Madison, Wisconsin in a Limo and, at my suggestion, stopped by the train station on West Washington Avenue where they jumped aboard an old Milwaukee Road train car for a few photos. Arriving at their reception at Sweet Sophie’s in Waunakee the couple and their wedding party posed with a big red double decker bus stationed outside introducing their guests to their English theme wedding. The party inside was elegant and fun but most of the movement from that point on was on the packed dance floor.
