When I'm photographing a wedding reception I often times feel like a ghost haunting the event.  Typically I don't know anyone at the reception and because of this the guests most often ignore me. It provides me the perfect opportunity to capture interesting candid images of the people in attendance.  I don't capture these images for the bride & groom specifically but they usually end up in their collection of photographs. No, I make these images for myself and consider them a personal fine art project depicting human beings dressed their best, putting on their best public face and occasionally dropping the mask to reveal something deeper and perhaps truer.   
About This Image:
I call this image “Dice Head” (how original).  This young lady, trying to entertain herself among this sea of adults found an inflatable dice used as a decoration at the reception and started tossing it in the air.  I made a photograph of her and noticed the dice almost covered her face giving the illusion of a "dice head".  I made a few more exposures and finally achieved what I wanted; the dice perfectly balanced on her shoulders.  The fact that she happened to be decked out in a poka-dot dress added an extra charm to the image.
